Typically, every episode of CSI:Miami has a new story behind it. Although it has the same basic storyline, there are new murders and cases to be solved in each episode. The story is mainly about how a group of crime scene investigators are able to solve these murders using intuition, guess work, and lab work. These people are the good guys, and almost always catch the perpetrator.
One of the main themes in CSI: Miami is suffering. In the episode "Spring Breakdown", the murderer is driven by her suffering that her victims put her through earlier in her life. Another major theme is how all of the main characters are loyal to the justice system, and to one another, and will do their best to find out who is guilty. A message that is prevalent in the show is that no matter what, the murderer will get caught. In all the episodes that I watched, the murderers are always the losers and get caught, and the winners are the ones who catch the criminal.
